The Master of Health Science (MHS) in Global Health Economics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is a 9-month STEM-designated academic program that provides in-depth training in economic tools and principles for addressing global health challenges. Students are trained to conduct economic evaluations of health programs and assess the impact of global issues such as migration, pandemics, and climate change on public health. The curriculum covers economics, econometrics, economic evaluation, epidemiology, and specialty electives, culminating in a comprehensive exam and a scholarly paper. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, policy, or further graduate study in global health economics. International students in F-1 status are eligible for STEM OPT extension after graduating.
