This is an individualized, interdisciplinary advanced master's degree designed for current educators and professionals who wish to specialize in one or two areas not covered by other master's degrees at JHU School of Education. The program stands out for its flexibility, allowing students to create a customized course of study aligned with their career goals. Coursework emphasizes in-depth study in at least one specialization, broad understanding across educational topics, and completion of an independent capstone project in teacher leadership. The program does not itself provide teacher certification, although some specialization/certificate pathways can lead to certification. For the 2025–2026 academic year, the School of Education is NOT admitting new students into the 'Individualized Interdisciplinary Program of Study' pathway. However, other specialized MS in Education tracks are available.
