The BSc Language, Culture and Society at LSE is a four-year joint honours degree taught by the Department of Sociology and the Language Centre. It integrates sociological theory with the intensive study of one of five modern languages (French, German, Mandarin, Russian, or Spanish). The curriculum examines how societies function and the role of language in cultural and social contexts. A compulsory year abroad at a partner institution deepens linguistic and cultural fluency and may include internship opportunities.
