Deakin University's Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion equips students to address the causes of poor health and improve wellbeing for individuals, communities, and populations. The program combines theoretical study with hands-on experiences, including at least 120 hours of work-integrated learning in a health agency during the final year. Graduates develop expertise in health promotion, planning and evaluation, health communication, epidemiology, and research. The course prepares students for diverse careers in government, private sector, and non-profits related to health education, policy, community development, women's health, and program planning. Deakin is the only Victorian university accredited by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and is ranked highly for sustainability and global health studies. A strong theoretical base, combined with practical experience, enables graduates to contribute to the wellbeing of society through education, policy, research, and media.
