The BASc(GHD), offered by the School of Public Health, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, is an interdisciplinary undergraduate programme designed to build multidisciplinary and international perspectives, core knowledge blocks, and people- and systems-oriented competencies for careers in modern health and development fields. The curriculum includes foundational to intermediate courses across multiple HKU faculties, advanced seminars and case studies, BASc courses on leadership and big data analytics, mentoring, and placements in local or overseas health and development organisations. A distinctive compulsory capstone places students for a 6-month experience with leading organisations such as UN agencies, NGOs, CROs, and philanthropic foundations, facilitated by HKU.
