The Bachelor of Chinese Medicine programme at CUHK aims to cultivate Chinese Medicine Practitioners with comprehensive knowledge in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and modern biomedical sciences. The 6-year curriculum is divided into 4.5 years of pre-clinical study, covering required and elective courses on medical sciences, Chinese medical concepts, classics, history, and principles, alongside early clinical attachments. This is followed by 1.5 years of clinical practice, conducted in Chinese medicine hospitals in Mainland China and in clinics in Hong Kong. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Practitioners Licensing Examination, becoming Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners upon passing. Students benefit from a robust network for clinical training, integration of theory and practice, and career prospects in clinical service, research, teaching, or administration.
