The Bachelor of Science in Gerontology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Faculty of Medicine is a University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded, two-year, full-time, credit-based articulated honours programme. It is designed for students who already hold an Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in health sciences, social sciences, psychology, counselling, life sciences, Chinese medicine, or related disciplines. The programme responds to the needs of Hong Kong's rapidly ageing population and equips students to plan, deliver, and coordinate aged care services across a broad range of health and social care settings. Year 1 focuses on foundational knowledge in social perspectives on ageing, care of older adults, and public health. Year 2 features a gerontological practicum, providing hands-on experience. Graduates will be prepared for careers in gerontological care, interdisciplinary service planning, management, and innovation in ageing services.
