The CUHK BSc in Earth and Environmental Sciences program provides a comprehensive foundation in the dynamics of the Earth and its environment, addressing global issues such as climate change, natural hazards, ecosystem degradation, and energy crises. The curriculum integrates multidisciplinary approaches in observation, analysis, and modeling of Earth systems and anthropogenic impacts. Students may specialize in streams such as Atmospheric Science, Geology and Geophysics, or Environmental Science and Technology (accredited by HKIQEP). The program emphasizes quantitative and analytical skill development through laboratory and field work, numerical modeling, programming, seminars, research projects, international exchanges, and extensive internship opportunities in collaboration with governmental, geotechnical, and environmental organizations. Graduates are prepared for careers in government, NGOs, consulting, engineering, and further academic research or education.
