The Master of Science in High Performance Buildings (HPB) at the Faculty of Construction and Environment, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is a multidisciplinary graduate programme designed to advance students’ expertise in sustainable high-rise building design and management. The programme integrates knowledge from the fields of building services engineering, environmental sciences, and management to broaden and deepen understanding of high performance buildings—structures that minimize global carbon footprints, optimize system performance, and enhance occupant health and well-being. Adopting an interdisciplinary framework, the curriculum covers topics such as climate change, carbon footprint assessment, building services system management and optimisation, as well as indoor environmental quality evaluation.
