The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aviation Engineering programme at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is designed to train students to become aeronautical and aviation engineers with strong skills in and in-depth knowledge of engineering and engineering management. The curriculum covers subjects such as aircraft systems, component design, aviation safety, propulsion systems, avionics, and engineering management. Students start with a broad foundational curriculum (Common Year One), then specialise in aviation engineering with opportunities to apply their learning through internships, technical visits, and a final-year project. The programme equips graduates for careers in areas including aircraft design, maintenance, aviation operations, airport engineering, and civil aviation sectors. Students enjoy a deferred choice between pursuing Aviation Engineering or Air Transport Engineering up to Year 3, allowing flexible exploration based on personal interests and strengths.
