The BEng (Hons) in Transportation Systems Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is designed to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary training in modern transportation systems, integrating essential principles from electrical and civil engineering. The curriculum emphasizes up-to-date engineering knowledge, practical applications in transportation, and the development of skills necessary to address efficiency, reliability, safety, and maintainability in infrastructure and services. There is a strong professional component, including laboratory work, industrial attachments, and a final-year project, preparing graduates for direct entry into the high-growth transportation and engineering sectors in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and beyond. The program is fully accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and incorporates a Common Year One curriculum before specialization. All students must also complete Work-Integrated Education (WIE), which involves summer training or industrial placement.
