The BEng (Hons) in Intelligent Robotics Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Faculty of Engineering is the first programme of its kind in Hong Kong. Its curriculum is designed to prepare students for rapidly evolving careers in robotics and intelligent systems, covering topics such as advanced intelligent systems, intelligent sensing and actuation, networked robots and IoT, robot mechanisms and motion planning, and robotics for intelligent manufacturing. The programme equips graduates to solve real-world engineering problems using innovative robotics and AI technologies and fosters entrepreneurship for those who wish to start their own robotics ventures. Students are admitted under a scheme-based approach (JS3741), usually together with Mechanical Engineering, and select their major prior to their third year based on preference and academic performance. The programme aims for accreditation by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers when the first cohort graduates.
