The BA (Hons) in Design (Social Design) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design is focused on realising social innovations and civic goals through design thinking and solution prototyping. It aims to expand the scope of design beyond commercial and compartmentalized practice by emphasizing civic participation, social engagement, and collaborative approaches. Students undertake contextual research and integrate technical and conceptual skills in real-life projects (Year 3) and carry out substantial integrative design projects aimed at positive societal impact (Year 4).
