The Bachelor of Arts and Science in New Media (BAS) at CityUHK's School of Creative Media prepares students to become creative artists and content providers in industries such as games, animation, TV and digital media broadcasting, and cinema. After fulfilling foundational school requirements, students acquire basic theoretical, historical, and practical competence in creative media areas including photography, sound, video, programming, electronics, and installation. The program delivers specialised 'Art and Science Studio' courses that encourage the incorporation of scientific concepts and methods into artistic practice, with an emphasis on research, visualization, and the integration of art, science, and culture. Students customize their study paths with electives spanning animation, games, cinema, and new media, and all culminate their studies with a Graduation Thesis or Project. Optional internships and an active mentoring scheme help students develop professional experience and receive guidance.
