This programme is designed for holders of a bachelor's degree wishing to pursue a recognized professional qualification in social work (Registered Social Worker, RSW) in Hong Kong. The curriculum develops competent professionals who are critical, reflective and capable of generic social work practice to meet the changing challenges of society. Students gain knowledge and professional competencies necessary for eligibility as Registered Social Workers. The programme consists of core social work courses (21 units), an elective course (3 units), integrative tutorials (3 units), and two fieldwork placements (10 units). Typical learning outcomes include the ability to integrate theory and practice, evaluate and advocate for service reforms, and demonstrate a commitment to social justice and lifelong learning.
