The Master of Philosophy in Macao Studies at the University of Macau is a 2-year on-campus master's program focused on an in-depth, interdisciplinary study of Macao. The program covers the political, economic, social, cultural, and historical development of Macao, emphasizing its role in East-West exchanges and as a bridge in culture, religion, literature, and the arts. Courses are taught in both Chinese and English, depending on instructor and student preference. Students will engage with courses covering contemporary issues of Macao, urban geography, historical heritage, Macao economy, and regional studies. The program aims to produce graduates with a synthetic understanding of Macao’s significance in the region and globally.
