The Master of Social Sciences in Economics at the University of Macau is a full-time, two-year program based on both coursework and dissertation. In the first year, students complete eight courses: four compulsory (covering microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, as well as quantitative and research methods) and four electives chosen from different sub-fields in economics. The second year is focused on a dissertation, demonstrating the student's independent research ability. The program is taught in English, and is designed to develop strong analytic and research skills in economics, suitable for both policy work and further doctoral study. The faculty includes scholars from top universities and actively engages in policy-relevant research.
