The Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Chemistry at the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering, University of Macau, provides an interdisciplinary curriculum integrating physics and chemistry with applications in materials, environmental, biomedical sciences, and various engineering fields. The project-oriented program trains students in laboratory research and equips them to tackle global challenges such as energy, health, food security, and resource management. Coursework includes advanced mathematics, solid-state physics, optoelectronics, thermodynamics, statistical physics, nanochemistry, semiconductor physics, organic and polymer chemistry, thin film physics, and more. Students participate in supervised research groups throughout the four years. There is also a dual degree ('2.5+2') option with Nanjing University, where participants receive a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Chemistry from UM and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from NJU upon fulfilling requirements. Graduates have broad foundations and applied skills for both further study and diverse careers.
