UCL Faculty of Laws’ LLM (General) is a 180-credit, research‑led programme designed for law graduates to deepen expertise across a broad set of legal fields without committing to a named specialism. Students take taught modules selected from across UCL Laws’ offerings and complete a 9,000‑word Research Essay, developing critical thinking, legal analysis, and research skills. Teaching is delivered via seminars, lectures, and tutorials, with assessments including exams and coursework. Full‑time students complete in 10 months; part‑time over two years; modular/flexible over two to five years.
