UCL’s 4-year integrated Master’s blends foundations in mathematics, programming, electronics, mechanics and control with applied AI/ML for intelligent robotics. Teaching draws on Computer Science and Engineering, combining theory with extensive practical work on real and simulated robots at the UCL East campus. The curriculum progresses from core maths, programming, electronics and control (Year 1) to advanced control, machine and reinforcement learning, simulation and systems engineering with an industrial group project (Year 2), followed by deep learning, robot learning and planning, networking/cybersecurity with a supervised group project (Year 3), and multi‑agent systems, situational awareness, HRI, economics of robotics plus specialist options (e.g., legged/soft robotics, computer vision, medical robotics) and a substantial individual project/dissertation in Year 4. The programme emphasizes solving real‑world problems, ethical and legal dimensions of robotics, and industry engagement via the Industry Exchange Network.
