UCL’s four-year Chemical Engineering MEng builds on the BEng with an additional final-year research project and advanced modules, providing a direct route to IChemE membership and Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Years 1–3 share a common curriculum with BEng, and in Year 3 students complete a compulsory team design project to design a complete chemical process plant, covering unit design, environmental impact, safety and risk assessment, process control and costing. Qualified BEng students may transfer to the MEng at the end of Year 3.
