The Bachelor of Science in Information Science, Systems, and Technology (ISST) at the Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science, Cornell University, focuses on the design and management of complex information systems. The program emphasizes both the technical engineering of digital systems and their integration within broader social, organizational, and economic contexts. Core courses provide grounding in operations research, probability, statistics, computer science, and economics, along with the societal impact of transformative information systems. Students may choose between Management Science or Information Science options within the major. The ISST major is only available to students admitted through the College of Engineering and is ideal for those interested in technology's human-centered aspects, algorithmic fairness, ethics, policy, human-computer interaction, machine learning, digital humanities, and systems design.
