The Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Family and Child Health at the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona, is an interdisciplinary, professional degree designed to equip students with core public health competencies. The Family and Child Health (FCH) track provides a curriculum focused on socioeconomic, cultural, political, and physiological factors affecting the health of families, women of all ages, infants, children, and adolescents. Students choose a plan of work in either Maternal and Child Health (MCH) or Global Health. Required coursework covers epidemiology, biostatistics, public health policy, environmental and occupational health, maternal and child health, and health program planning/evaluation. Students complete a capstone Master's Report and at least 42 credit units, including electives approved by a faculty mentor. The program is suitable for graduates or professionals from healthcare, nursing, social sciences, or public health backgrounds interested in family and child health issues. The program takes about two years full-time, with part-time and dual degree options available.
