The Bachelor of Science in Optical Sciences & Engineering at the University of Arizona’s James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences provides students with a comprehensive education in both the scientific and engineering aspects of light. The program covers a broad range of topics, including optics, photonics, optoelectronics, optical materials, optomechanics, and biomedical optics. Students receive a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and core optical principles while gaining hands-on experience in designing, fabricating, and testing optical systems. Graduates are prepared for careers in optical design, manufacturing, lasers, optical instrumentation, fiber communications, and more, as well as for further advanced study.
