The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Technology at the University of Maryland's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources is a science- and math-based curriculum that prepares students for careers and graduate study focused on understanding, protecting, and sustainably managing the natural and built environments. Students study human impacts on the environment, ecosystem health, environmental quality of air, water, and soils, and solutions for sustainable environmental improvement. The program offers four concentrations: Ecological Technology Design, Ecosystem Health, Soil and Watershed Science, and Natural Resources Management. All concentrations share a rigorous foundation in science and mathematics, and allow students to specialize through core and elective courses addressing ecological technology, ecosystem health, soil and hydrology, and natural resource management. The curriculum emphasizes multidisciplinary analytical and design tools for solving complex environmental challenges. Students graduate with fundamental knowledge of environmental systems and quantitative skills for environmental problem solving.
