The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science and Technology is an interdisciplinary, science-based undergraduate major at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Maryland College Park. It focuses on sustainable production of food, feed, fiber, fuel, and ornamentals while equipping students with technological skills and critical thinking around agricultural science. The program offers three specializations: Agronomy (comprehensive education in crop, soil, and animal sciences), Environmental Horticulture (fruit, vegetable, and ornamental production including greenhouse and nursery management and plant protection), and Agricultural & Extension Education (prepares students to teach agriculture in high school and agricultural extension settings, with options to double major or pursue integrated education pathways). Graduates are equipped for careers in farm management, agricultural extension, environmental sciences, marketing, regulatory services, teaching, or further graduate study.
