The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at the College of Arts and Humanities, University of Maryland College Park is an interdisciplinary program combining the methods and insights of philosophy, political science, and economics. The curriculum includes foundational coursework in all three fields, a core PPE sequence, and elective courses, culminating in a capstone seminar. The program is designed to equip students for careers in law, public policy, government, business, and related areas, and trains students in analytical, research, and communication skills. Students are encouraged to undertake internships, especially given UMD's proximity to Washington, D.C. The major requires 13 courses (39 credits), including six disciplinary foundations, three specialized PPE courses, and four upper-level electives.
