The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Maryland College Park is a comprehensive undergraduate program taught within the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences. The program covers core areas such as algorithms, systems, programming languages, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Students may choose specializations in Cybersecurity, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Quantum Information. The curriculum requires 63–64 total credits in the major, with at least five 400-level courses across at least three subject areas, and 12 credits of 300–400 level courses outside of Computer Science. Honors and research opportunities are available. The program prepares students for careers in IT, software engineering, research, and graduate study.
