The Biological Sciences major at the University of Maryland College Park, offered by the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, exposes students to modern experimental disciplines in biology and prepares them for diverse careers in health care, research, teaching, policy, and academia. Students begin with foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, and mathematics, then specialize in one of several concentration areas. The program is jointly managed by the Departments of Biology, Cell Biology & Molecular Genetics, and Entomology.
