The Information Systems (IS) major at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland College Park, prepares undergraduates to plan, implement, and evaluate modern information technologies for business transformation. Students develop both technical and non-technical skills including programming for business analytics, database and big data management, systems analysis and design, web/cloud application development, as well as analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. The IS program is consistently ranked in the Top 10 nationwide by U.S. News & World Report, and graduates are well-equipped for careers in consulting, data analytics, and information systems management.
