The Master of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering is a flexible, research-focused graduate program. Students choose designated specializations within the broad engineering sciences major, including Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, among others. The program blends advanced coursework in design, modeling, data analysis, systems engineering, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and computational techniques with hands-on research, culminating in either a thesis (Plan I) or a comprehensive exam (Plan II). The curriculum prepares graduates for leadership in innovative mechanical and aerospace applications in industry, research, or continuing to doctoral studies.
