The Bachelor of Science in General Biology at UC San Diego is designed for students with broad interests across biological disciplines. The major includes foundational coursework covering the full spectrum of biology subdisciplines (e.g., molecular/cellular biology, genetics, physiology, ecology, evolution) and allows for flexible selection of upper-division electives. This program prepares students for careers and postgraduate studies in fields such as health professions, academic and industrial research, teaching, science communication, biotechnology, and science policy.
