The BS Computer Engineering program at UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering, jointly administered by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), offers rigorous interdisciplinary training at the intersection of hardware and software. Students gain foundational knowledge in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, programming, and computer organization in the lower division, and study theory/design of algorithms, hardware/software integration, and electronic systems in the upper division. Technical electives enable depth in areas like machine learning, robotics, security, human-computer interaction, and networking. Graduates gain broad experience spanning both hardware and software domains, preparing them for innovative roles in technology industries.
