The Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering, University of California San Diego, is a four-year ABET-accredited program that provides foundational instruction in mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, solid and fluid mechanics, and heat transfer, followed by aerospace-specific subjects including structures, aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion, controls, and design. Graduates are prepared for careers in the aerospace industry (aircraft, spacecraft development) and related technological fields (automotive, naval, sporting equipment manufacturing). Students participate in laboratory experimentation, numerical computation, and design projects, culminating in senior team-based engineering design addressing real-world industry problems.
