The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering, UC San Diego, provides students with rigorous training in the fundamental sciences and engineering analysis required to address global environmental challenges. The program emphasizes quantitative skills, sustainability, water and air quality, resource management, and the development of modern environmental technologies. Students engage in interdisciplinary work across engineering, environmental sciences, and policy, and benefit from extensive research and internship opportunities. The curriculum includes core courses in environmental chemistry, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, mathematics, physics, and specialized environmental engineering topics, along with ample elective choices from MAE and related departments. Research and hands-on experience are emphasized through campus labs and partnerships with industry.
