The Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology at UC San Diego focuses on the origins, evolution, organizational complexity, and socioecology of human and nonhuman primate societies. The program combines a foundation in the natural sciences with core training in anthropological theory and biological anthropology, incorporating neuroscience and cognitive science to investigate cognition and behavior in humans and primates. Students complete courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics/statistics, and anthropology, and develop research, analytical, and laboratory skills suitable for careers in academia, research, healthcare, conservation, or related fields.
