The Master of Science in Community Sustainability at Michigan State University's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources is an interdisciplinary program designed for students interested in community sustainability issues in both domestic and international contexts. The program emphasizes integrated and applied research (Plan A, thesis) or professional skills (Plan B, non-thesis), encouraging work in community food systems, environmental stewardship, tourism and recreation, civic engagement, and international development. Students select either a research- or professional-oriented track and develop a study plan with faculty guidance to address complex, real-world sustainability challenges.
