The MSU College of Nursing's Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) MSN program is designed to prepare registered nurses for advanced practice, specializing in the primary care of adolescents (age 13+) through older adults, with a focus on the frail elderly. The hybrid program combines in-person and virtual coursework (synchronous/asynchronous), allowing only 15 on-campus days. Students receive rotations arranged for optimal clinical experience and benefit from the resources of a research-intensive university. Graduates are eligible for national certification and are qualified to work in diverse settings, including clinics, internal medicine, long-term care, and sub-acute rehabilitation. The program emphasizes high certification pass rates and employment placement, and offers both MSN and DNP study tracks.
