The Bachelor of Arts in Humanities—Prelaw at Michigan State University’s College of Arts and Letters is an interdisciplinary, liberal arts major designed for students planning to attend law school or pursue careers in government or corporate settings. The curriculum emphasizes critical research, writing, and presentation skills, and allows students to tailor their studies through three core areas (major concentrations) with a flexible selection of courses in the humanities and arts. Students work closely with advisors to choose one emphasis area from prelaw-designated courses across various disciplines (within and outside the College of Arts and Letters), while the other two areas must relate to disciplines inside the college. This structure provides a broad academic foundation, preparing graduates for law school, public policy, advocacy, or civil service.
