The Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences at Michigan State University’s College of Natural Science provides interdisciplinary training in solid Earth sciences. The program covers the structure, composition, and processes of the solid Earth, including natural hazards, high-temperature geochemistry, geophysics, and paleontology. Instruction is delivered through a blend of classroom, laboratory, and field experiences, including a mandatory 6-week summer field geology camp. Students can choose an optional concentration in geophysics, which is recorded on the transcript. Graduates pursue careers in the petroleum industry, mining, environment, academia, and government.
