This program provides students with a broad interdisciplinary foundation in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, specifically designed for those who plan to teach science – including life science, chemistry, earth and space science, or physics – at the secondary education level. The curriculum emphasizes both content knowledge and the interrelationships between scientific disciplines, preparing graduates for certification and employment as secondary school science teachers. Students complete foundational coursework across the sciences, educational pedagogies, and a senior capstone, with additional credits in science and society to foster holistic understanding of science’s role in society.
