NYU GSAS’s interdisciplinary MA in Russian and Slavic Studies allows students to take Russia-related courses across NYU. The curriculum has strengths in literature, history, and film, while supporting specializations ranging from anthropology and politics to music, linguistics, and performance studies. It prepares students for PhD study or provides rigorous area expertise for terminal MA students pursuing careers related to Russia/Eurasia. Applicants should hold a BA and have at least basic knowledge of Russian; the department expects language advancement to the advanced level before the MA is awarded.
