NYU School of Medicine and NYU Stern jointly offer a dual MD/MBA enabling students to complete medical training alongside a full MBA to prepare physician-leaders for the business of healthcare. Students spend the first three years full‑time in the School of Medicine, then a dedicated full‑time MBA year at Stern (fall–spring of year 4), return to medicine in summer/fall of year 5, and finish with a final MBA semester in spring of year 5. The MBA portion totals 51 credits (Required Core, Menu Core, Capstone Core, and Electives). The MD portion follows NYU Grossman’s pre‑clerkship, core clerkships, advanced clerkships, electives, and concentration/Selective requirements. The program saves roughly one year versus earning the two degrees separately and is designed to build competencies in finance, strategy, operations, leadership, and the economics/management of healthcare while maintaining full medical clinical progression.
