NYU’s School of Global Public Health partners with the College of Arts & Science to offer an interdisciplinary co-major that integrates public health with anthropology. The program trains students to analyze cultural traditions through the lens of health, examine relationships among economic, political, cultural, physical, and biological environments, and apply anthropological approaches to public health problems. All GPH combined majors complete six public health core courses, one to three combined-major electives, 90 hours of experiential learning, and a semester-long study away at an NYU global site. The co-major must be paired with a degree-granting bachelor’s major (GPH is not a standalone major).
