NYU Arts & Science comprises the College of Arts & Science (CAS), Liberal Studies (LS), and the Graduate School of Arts & Science (GSAS). CAS is the founding undergraduate college offering 60+ majors and 60+ minors with a rigorous liberal arts core; within CAS, Bachelor of Science degrees include Neural Science (BS) and Physics (BS), and, via dual-degree pathways with engineering, BS options in biology, computer science, and mathematics. Physics and Chemistry at CAS can be pursued either as BA or BS, while Neural Science confers only the BS. Liberal Studies is part of Arts & Science and provides the two‑year Liberal Studies Core from which students transition into CAS majors, or a separate four‑year GLS BA; LS itself does not confer BS degrees, but serves as a pathway into CAS BS programs.
