The Ohio State University Master of Respiratory Therapy (MRT) is the first advanced practice clinical master's degree for respiratory care in the United States. Designed for registered respiratory therapists, the program prepares advanced practitioners to serve as clinical specialists in a wide range of settings. The curriculum features extensive supervised clinical experience, advanced coursework in respiratory practice, and preparation for credentialing as an Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist (APRT). Graduates will be able to expand their professional scope, assume leadership roles, and contribute to evidence-based respiratory care in the health system. The program is accredited provisionally by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and is NOT an entry-to-practice program.
