This dual degree program at The Ohio State University's John Glenn College of Public Affairs and the Center for Latin American Studies enables students to earn both a Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Master of Arts in Public Policy, and a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies. The curriculum focuses on advanced training in public administration and policy theory, while offering intensive interdisciplinary area studies on Latin America. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in public, private, or nonprofit sectors with deep expertise in the governance, development, and unique policy issues affecting Latin America and U.S.-Latin America relations. The program requires 67 credit hours distributed across policy and area studies, a capstone project, and a master's thesis or exam for the Latin American Studies component. Dual degree students benefit from significant course credit overlap, allowing graduation in about three years instead of separately completing both degrees in four.
