The dual degree program is jointly offered by the John Glenn College of Public Affairs and the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) at Ohio State University. It equips students with interdisciplinary expertise in public policy, management, and the languages, cultures, and politics of Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Graduates earn two separate master's degrees: a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Master of Arts (MA) in Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies. The curriculum integrates core public administration training with in-depth area studies and advanced language study, preparing graduates for public, non-profit, or international sector careers with a strong regional focus. The program requires about 71 credit hours: 19 in area studies, 26 in public policy, and 26 elective credits. Students must complete a Glenn College capstone and an MA thesis or exam for CSEEES. Language proficiency (four years of Russian or two years of another relevant language) is required. Participants benefit from advising, access to faculty across many disciplines, and professional development opportunities.
