The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine prepares students to become advanced-level respiratory therapists who provide care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The program, accredited through 2027 by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), integrates classroom instruction with approximately 1000 hours of supervised clinical practice across hospitals and healthcare settings. Graduates are eligible for licensure and national certification as Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT). Admission is selective and typically occurs after completion of prerequisite coursework; students are admitted at the junior level following two years of general education and prerequisite sciences. The program is nationally recognized for outstanding credentialing success and offers early admission opportunities to highly qualified high school students.
