The BSc Biomedical Sciences program at Cardiff University's College of Biomedical and Life Sciences provides comprehensive training in the science that underpins medicine and medical research. Students explore a wide variety of biological subjects including physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, genetics, and microbiology. The curriculum is informed by ongoing biomedical research within the School of Biosciences and the University Hospital of Wales, including contemporary topics such as cancer biology, stem cells, tissue engineering, gene therapy, and neurodegenerative diseases. The program is highly flexible, enabling students to specialize (e.g., Anatomy or Physiology) or maintain a broad base of study, with continued guidance from a personal tutor. Graduates are equipped for careers in scientific research, healthcare, publishing, teaching, or further study (Master’s or PhD). The program is also a potential feeder for entry into medicine.
